Hilde Thielemans's paintings are an expression of ull expression, using strong bruchstrokes, direct touches, pure coulours, playful accents in a composition that is surprising and at the same time distinctive.

The elaboration is one in which nothing has to be done, but everything is possible.  Her souces of inspiration are the human ... figurative, stylized to abstracted, in a rendering that can be subtle or humorous, but often with a drop of fantasy.

Each creation silently 'tells' its own story.  It's nice to convey a lot of feeling - without words.

Her paintings are not works of toil and sweat but of passion and pleasure.  She works mainly with acrylic on canvas but also with homemade oil paints, ink and mixed media.
