The name Pandora means " giver of all gifts", but Pandora is undoubtedly better known from the Greek myth where she is was made from water and earth by Hephaistos at the request of Zeus for the purpose of punishing humans. All the gods bestowed good gifts on her. So she was also given (as the first human ever) curiosity. Zeus also bestowed a vessel (or box) in which all accidents were locked. Due to her curious nature, Pandora could not resist opening the barrel and so disasters spread across the world, Pandora was startled and clapped the barrel back shut and so she locked up hope that was at the bottom of the barrel. In recent times, the world feels a bit like all disasters have been released. Global warming and its consequences, inflation, war, pollution, famine... the list seems endless Fortunately, in the legend, Pandora opened the vessel a second time to send hope into the world. Let this painting especially symbolise the second time the vessel is opened. This painting is the smallest in the series because even the smallest glimmer of hope can make a world of difference, because hope makes life (and water is life). In other words, let us not give up hope and keep fighting for a better world
