As humans, we play in the earth in which we shape ourselves in certain ways. Often we cover our true colors and talents. Fortunately, life inevitably brings us rain. We can focus on the rain, the tears, the breaking open of the solid ground on which we try to build ourselves. Or we can focus on the new colors we discover through these events. Because just that rain, which drenches us, soaks us or even drowns us in emotion, loosens the hardest earth. At first we may see only the muddy water. But as the water calms and becomes clear, we see that beneath the mud of conditioning our unique gold was waiting to be uncovered.
