Wilfried Jacops, born in Aalst, studied sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Dendermonde.

He worked as a stonesculptor, contributing to the restoration of the Palace of Justice, the Town Hall, and the St. Michael’s Cathedral in Brussels, as well as the Church of Our Lady in Dendermonde.

Since then, he has been an independent sculptor, working figuratively with various types of stone using the direct carving technique.

His monumental works explore themes such as origin, growth, and birth. Jacops likes to use hands as symbolic carriers, receivers, givers, or protectors, and the sun as an energetic source.

Wilfried Jacops won several awards and his work can be seen in various public and private collections.

His studio is located in Lebbeke, where he also lives and works.
