Artist of the month : Marcelline Piscador (july 2025)

Marcelline Piscador is a Belgian artist based in Wetteren. After a diverse career as a photographer, window dresser, and travel guide abroad, she returned to Belgium to study jewelry design. Her education at the Sint-Niklaas Academy deepened her technical and creative skills, leading to an ambitious final project.

However, a severe autoimmune disease affected her hands, forcing her to stop designing. After a period of grief, she found a new path in painting, pen drawing, and collage—initially as a form of healing.

Since 2018, Marcelline has developed a deeply intuitive, symbol-rich visual language, blending abstract and figurative styles with Japanese influences. She works with mixed media, pen, collage, and gold leaf. Her art expresses silence, soulfulness, and connection. For her, a day without creating is a day unlived.
