"Where Nature and Art Meet" is an artwork highlighting a fascinating piece of driftwood from Kenya. This heavy piece of driftwood, from the area where the Congo River meets the Atlantic Ocean, was bravely brought to our lodging by my son and underwent a two-day journey by taxi, train and 2 flights to finally end up in my art studio.
After thorough cleaning and drying, the wood was given a base paint followed by five coats of gleaming gold paint. The result is a stunning work of art mounted on a black mount, where the raw beauty of nature and the sophistication of art come together seamlessly. Symbolising the harmonious interaction between natural elements and artistic expression, this work invites the viewer to appreciate the splendour of nature through the lens of art.
