Graphic designer by trade, I am lucky to have studied art and design at St-Lucas Antwerp, just before computers came along. One had to have some artistic skills in the days. Observation drawing and live model sketching were important courses. After many years of freelance design on computer, the need for authentic and artistic creation grew bigger and bigger. Since 2017 painting has become the major bulk of my professional occupation, turning my back to advertising. I hope to be able to do full-time painting soon.

I mainly work with acrylics on linen canvas, preferably in large format. I also do paintings and portraits on commission. Last year I was bedridden for several weeks after a leg fracture. I picked up watercolor again with great success. Oil painting will probably be the next step.

My main subjects are humans in their environment (I love to tell stories) and fly fishing (especially watercolors).
