Myrjam De Keyser

Myrjam De Keyser follows courses at the Academy of Arts in Wilrijk/Antwerp but has been working with watercolor since 2018.

She derives the most pleasure from the unexpected effect produced by the watercolor paint and the recurrent tension of how the end result will look like. Often little mistakes and failures lead to the nicest shapes. Working patiently, waiting untill the top layers dry and be open for the unexpected reactions of the paint, that is what these paintings are about.

A certain rigidness in the design is combined with the playfullness of the paint. Using bright colors introduces the force of life in all its possibilities and its fickleness.
