Malificent
Mixed media on canvas – 100 × 100 × 4 cm
Of all works in her oeuvre, Malificent is perhaps the most emotionally charged. It emerged from a place of deep unrest and a visceral rejection of those who believe themselves untouchable within institutions that claim sanctity.
The piece speaks of power, silence, injustice, and the scars left behind by unspoken violations. On the surface, it is layered and vivid, yet within those layers lies a long-held rage — one that was never allowed a voice.
Marcelline Piscador grew up in an environment where silence was expected and trust was fragile. Malificent is not so much an accusation as it is an act of release — a visual way to break the imposed quiet and begin healing.
The raised hands in the painting can be seen as plea, warning, or witness. The figures hold both guilt and shadow. What rises to the surface cannot be easily erased.
