"Fluid Connections" is a large work in which a reference has been made to the impact of Alzheimer's, inspired by emotional memories of the disease that affected my father. The painting depicts the complex and changeable nature of the disease, focusing on the cells, nerves and brain in different colours and layers. This abstract representation symbolises the loss of different facets and stages of the disease.
The work shows not only the depths of grief, but also moments of hope and joy. It highlights the process of growing closer together and enjoying small things, like a smile or a signal. The painting, measuring 130 x 90 cm, is constructed on canvas with layers of textured, acrylic and poured glass paint, which together create depth and movement. A wooden frame envelops this beautifully emotional work.
