The Sun is a ubiquitous symbol in humanity that occupies a dominant place in every culture, and it is therefore not surprising that this star has been personified a great many times.
Often the Sun represents power. It is a life-giving star and if the Sun were to disappear, or even if its rays no longer reached us, life would be extinguished on Earth, hence the life-giving symbol.
