Leymah Roberta Gbowee, a remarkable woman, this Liberian social worker and peace activist worked as a trauma counsellor for child soldiers. She also went on to advocate for peace and women in positions of influence. Built bridges between Christian and Muslim women and, thanks to her peace movement "Women of Liberia Mass Action for peace, ensured that the second Liberian civil war ended. In 2005, she became the first female president in Africa! From that position, she crossed borders and continued her work. Among other things, she set up a pan-African organization in Ghana with the aim of involving women more in decision-making around peace and security. In 2011 she also won the Nobel Peace Prize. I could go on and on about the fantastic initiatives that this wonderful woman set up ... but I would like to end with this powerful quote from her: "I'm a serious optimist. I come from a country where you have little to be hopeful for, and so you have to always be an optimist"
