The paintings of the Belgian artist Arthur Bernard are full of movement and energy, like the artist himself.

This energy and movement is emphasized by the use of bright Mediterranean colors.

There seems to be no preconceived plan or sketch, but an idea perhaps, an inspiration of the moment, carried by music. The artist lets himself be carried away by the subject, who lives his own life in his hands.

Over time and the speed of the creative gesture, the characters fade away in favor of an aerial abstraction full of fantasy.

The freedom of means and gesture seems to be the key word of this work.
