Artist of the month : Erika Cool (march 2025)

Erika Cool is fascinated by colors, aesthetics, and the art world from a young age, she immersed herself in the fashion industry at 17 while studying fashion design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht. This experience laid the foundation for her artistic creations.

Her brief career as a photographic model, mannequin, and actress continues to influence her artistic work to this day.

For twenty years, she has participated in various productions for major brands. In her graphic projects, she has utilized brushes, airbrushes, projectors, digital printers, and cutting robots. Occasionally, she paints or draws on sensitive subjects such as the Bataclan attack or, in a premonition, the COVID virus, often driven by anger or mockery.

Her work frequently carries a satirical sexual connotation.

In 2022, as a tribute to her friend Brigitte Lahaie, she created her first "POP ART" painting, a self-portrait of the actress. Following this experience, she embarked on a complete series in her likeness, which she exhibited in Paris in May 2024 during the launch of her latest book: Lahaie by Brigitte.
