Ambre Kalène

Born in Paris of a Swiss father and a gypsy mother, Ambre Kalène is painting and exhibiting since 1986 in numerous art galleries in France and Switzerland, as well as with various artist collectives.

After a non-figurative period, she takes the path of the figurative art, at first in order to ask a question: "What makes us?". The portraits, representing the innate, appear in part, in order to leave room to the background of the picture which represents the acquired.

Today, she wants to lead the viewer to ask questions about its environment, about human behavior, often incoherent, in the face of animal consistency.
